Monochrome and Other Madnesses

I can’t do total justice to the magnificent churches of Paris but here is a tribute and my contribution to Leanne Cole and Monochrome Madness 3-28

Sacre Couer

and be that Halloween or Samhain is creeping up on us, here are two interpretations of the Beansidhe (Banshee) bearing in mind that though there were those who were the  foretellers and mourners of death they were also part of the fair race of myth and legend, the Tuatha de Danaan.

The wail of the Banshee

“So pray she does not come this night
If you would see the morning’s light.
Sleep well, my child, sleep fast and tight.
And dream of sweet tomorrow.”

What do you use to edit your images?

And, why have I never followed your blog? I follow very few due to time constraints, but I think I will add you to the list, just to keep my juices of imagination flowing. 🙂

Thanks. I have a Photoshop program…if you could really call it that because it is so very old! It’s a “Photoshop 15” program from years and years ago. Very low tech. So, I mostly play around with free online programs like PicMonkey.com and Pixlr.com. You can’t do quite as much with the free programs, but they are still fun to use.

      2. actually I see people do amazing stuff with them! keep going with it. You always learn something new. Do you shoot in RAW format at all?

I’ve never had a camera with the capability. For years I’ve been using the Canon Powershot S3 IS. My parents are buying me a “new” camera for Christmas this year, though, and it can shoot in RAW. It’s still an older camera (Canon Powershot SX50 HS) but will be a big step up for me. It’s similar to my old camera because I am so in love with the fully-articulated LCD screen — use it all the time!

      4. I loved my canon powershot. I wish I could get a full frame camera but finances do not permit that luxury. It’s all good and it’s exciting to get a new/old camera.

  5. I’m reading this the night before Halloween, I hope that I don’t hear the call of the banshee tonight but I’d quite happily walk into one of your magical scenes.
