Cee’s Sepia challenge

Thanks Emilio for drawing my attention to this one- Cee’s fun photo challengesI haven’t participated in any challenges except MM for awhile  and due to other commitments, this blog has slowed down. Pop over and check out Cee’s great blog and all the submissions.

Some of my travel photos  translate so well in Sepia tones.  Here is Eileann Donan Castle in the Highlands of Scotland on the way to Skye. The coloured version is on Flickr. I added a few scratches.

I love the effect of sepia on these two flower images that were posted previously in colour

ssepia rose

sepia spiire
the spire

and finally our Icelandic Rose, Hrafna which I had done in charcoal sketch effect blend before adding a sepia filter

There is another version of her on my Flickr.  She really does look like a girl from long ago

Beautiful sepia shots, Cybele. I love the nostalgic feel of the castle and the flowers. I’m curious how the portrait would look without the sketch effect.

Pure art,Cybele. The castle in sepia couldn’t be any better, and Hrafna’s portrait is nicely shaded off,it is so classic and romantic. You needed a change.Didn’t you?The floral images are equally beautiful, the rose is so handsomely tinted!

I’m sorry now that I drew your attention to Cee’s challenge. Why? Because next to your sepia pieces of art, mine looks like a hack job by someone who had no idea what they were doing! And don’t try to compliment me to make me feel better. I’m way beyond that. Maybe I’ll try short story writing from now on. Yeah. No more Photos By Emilio. From now on Emilio’s Tales! Oh, and Hrafna is gorgeous.

I was hoping you would take my comment the way I meant it. Just having fun. But I did love your artwork! And I’m always playing around with writing but don’t really have the patience for a full blown novel.

      2. nor do I – short stories are my forte! and my problem of course is inconsistency as I take time out frequently from blogging etc. Yes Hrafna is a gorgeous creature from a tale!!

I must see what I can do with one I took years ago….the weather was very indifferent, so is the image, but a bit of post processing wizardry might do the trick – or not!
